Searching for your roots in Italy
We can locate an archive of your family tree and track down news and history about your Italian ancestors.
This year, one of our CEO and Creative Director Giuliano's most loyal customers, who had previously visited Italy and had picked Zest Italy tours to visit Rome in 2018, requested a private and bespoke trip of Sicily for her parents and grandson. I personally organized their tour of Sicily, which included Catania, the Etna Region, and Palermo. Not only was I delighted to organize their vacation schedule, but I also took on a particular request.

One of their key goals was to visit the town of Acquaviva Platani (Caltanissetta), where her great-grandparents were born and subsequently moved to the United States at a young age.

In line with Zest's philosophy and approach, I wanted to ensure that their trip was more than just a vacation in Italy, but a real tour to the areas where their ancestors once lived. With the help of our specialist team and the mayor of Acquaviva Platani's approval, we began our research in the municipal archive, with the invaluable assistance of Nino Pardi, a professional licensed local guide.

Our clients were extremely impressed and amazed by the findings made in the family archive, which they first learnt about after arriving in Acquaviva Platani. The house where her great-grandfather was born, the documents attesting to the departure for the United States, the arrival in New York and the temporary stay on Ellis Island while waiting to be admitted to the United States, the documents and photographs of their marriage before leaving, and the unexpected meeting with a relative who still lives in town.

In the event that you wish to trace your ancestors of Italian origin, our team of experts can carry out in- depth archive research after obtaining special authorization from the relevant authorities.
