The Accademia Galleries will offer you a first perspective on ancient art through five centuries of Venetian painting. Starting from their close connection with the Byzantine art of their origins, you will learn about their relationship with the 15th century Florentine school which is so important to delve into the essence of the Venetian Renaissance and the Golden Age of the great masters. The lyrical style of the patriarchs Bellini and Giorgione, the fairy tales of Carpaccio, the triumph of sensuality and color of Titian, the energy and passion of Tintoretto, the elegance and opulence of Veronese. Ending with the fascinating season of 18th century Venice with Canaletto and Tiepolo. At a small walking distance (5 min) lies the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, one of the most significant museums for modern art in Italy. Works from artists such as Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Salvador Dalí, and Wassily Kandinsky. The collection reflects Guggenheim’s eclectic tastes mixing Surrealism, Cubism, and Abstract Expressionism.

(Due to restoration works going on periodically, some of the rooms in the museums might be closed.)
